About Michalann

I believe that music is a powerful universal language that can bring more healing and connection into our lives! I began playing the piano at age five and also studied the viola, violin and clarinet for several years before attending Brigham Young University-Idaho on a full-music scholarship and earning a degree in Piano Performance.
As a teacher, I really enjoy getting to know all of my students and have a goal to help build their self-confidence through the expression of music. My playing and teaching experience spans almost four decades and includes beginners through college level, in both group and individual settings. I also enjoyed being music director at Me and My Friends Preschool in Ft. Worth for several years.
I have performed as guest soloist with the Temple Symphony Orchestra and in many other settings, including church (on the organ, harpsichord and piano,) weddings, and benefit galas. I love the collaboration that comes from accompanying, and have played for award-winning choirs, singers and instrumentalists.

I am an active member of the Texas Music Teachers Association and local Mid-Cities Chapter, as well as the National Music Teachers Association. Being part of these organizations allows for my students to participate in additional festivals, recitals and competitions if they are interested.
As a mother of four, I know how busy life can be, so I offer the invaluable convenience of bringing my studio to
you with high-quality, professional one-on-one lessons taught in your home! No more waiting in the car or rushing between activities! If you prefer to come to my studio, your student will enjoy playing on a beautiful full-sized grand piano each week!
